NEWS! Bon Iver Will Grace Philippines in 2016's Wanderland Music and Arts Festivel

After the quitely unending rumours of hiatus for the great alternative band, Bon Iver finally decides to start performing again, this time though, on cities/countries where they haven't visited yet.

Bon Iver just confirmed on their Facebook account that they will indeed tour around Asia. The dates are as follows:

21/02/16 - Seoul, South Korea (Ax Hall)
24/02/16 - Taipei, Taiwan (TICC)
26/02/16 - Singapore, Singapore (The Star Theatre)
29/02/16 - Tokyo, Japan (Studio Coast)
02/03/16 - Osaka, Japan (Zepp Namba)
05/03/16 - Manila, Philippines (Wanderland Music & Arts Festival)
08/03/16 - Hong Kong, Hong Kong (Machperson Stadium)

So if you live around these cities, make sure to mark these days in your calendar or else you'll miss out on great music!

Yes, it seems like, even though it's almost impossible for an artist like Bon Iver to visit the Philippines, the band still sought out to! It's the only date where they will have to perform in a festival, much like Justin Vernon's "Eaux Claire".

Wanderland Music & Arts Festival will take place on the same date and other alternative artist like Death Cab for Cutie are among the headliners. It's basically the Philippines' version of Glastonburry, Leeds and Reading Festivals and Bonnaroo Music Festival where alternative and indie artists are asked to perform, which is good since it seems like the country is keeping up with times!

My Opinion:
I am very much delighted to hear this news. The Philippines doesn't get that attention from Alternative artists, especially from bands as big as Bon Iver. Our festivals are pretty much rock/edm-concentrated, mostly filled by local bands, which gets tiring because we are not immersed in diversity. Philippines is a great country for musicians, there are a lot of hardcore fans here that loves music from different artists around the world, but the lack of events being held here is the reason why our festivals are almost the same.

Being a huge fan of Bon Iver, I have been constantly hoping he would visit my country, even though it seemed very unlikely until this moment! Now I think I need to save up a lot of money and try to fulfill the #1 list in my "to-do list", and that is to "Go to a concert by one of your favorite artists, make this your first otherwise just give it a pass!" Hopefully I will!

Here's a masterpiece from Bon Iver that I think the world needs to hear:
